Ever hear of Sandboxie?
I was on one of the other tech sites I belong to, and there was a recommendation for a program called Sandboxie: http://www.sandboxie.com/. Does that look like a good one to use/have?

If I had to deal with kids that download anything and everything they come across on to the family computer ( not to mention the adults who do the same ) I would give that serious consideration.
If you ever have to do a research project that could take you into the "wilds" I would consider it a necessity. You're just plain curious as to how things will run with that installed? Go for it. None of the above apply? Then you're just adding "clutter" and an upkeep problem for no good reason.

Interesting app...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandboxie http://www.sandboxie.com/ After the 30 day trial period the cost is 29 euros (37.42 USD) for a permanent license. I don't think most people would need it except for those who go into dangerous territory on the internet.

For free you can use virtualbox to accomplish the same thing. Just set up a VM of any operating system you want, linux winxp, win2k, vista, win7, etc.. Once you get the VM setup, back it up to a secure location and surf the net only through your VM. If the VM winds up with malware, just delete it and copy the VM over from your backup. You can download virtualbox for free here:

So I'm collecting from the reactions here that it's definitely not worth it. I just saw an advertisement and thought it looked interesting.
