This might help..
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/w...file-or-folder There is software out there for ridding your computer of stubborn files. I have never had to use one, yet, so I don't have any recommendations. Here is one. I have no idea how well it works. http://www.filehippo.com/download_unlocker/ If nothing else works, you could delete it by slaving your C: drive to another computer and then nuking it from the other computer. My thinking is that if the OS that boots the program and the program itself is not booted then it may have no way of defending itself from being deleted.

I haven't used Spybot or Ad-Aware in years - try Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware.

What he has is not malware, is it? Its a program designed to help defend against spyware and is now mistakenly defending against the user, isn't it?

If he's running win 7, he probably doesn't own his profile.
PITAhttp://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...menu-in-vista/ Maybe a typo, but note the message 'I'm not administrator.' as opposed to 'You're not an Administrator.' I'm assuming Administrator owms the file.

Maybe the program thinks he is the Administrator now?
aka HAL in 2001.
