IRC keeps on resetting

I just recently started on a new ISP, and I have been noticing that I keep on being dropped from the IRC over and over again. I do not notice any other applications having issues however. This same thing happens about every 10-20 minutes. I have been told that it might be a DNS issue, but I am not sure. Here is the error that I keep on seeing. Thank you ahead of the time for any help.

[13:39] [ERROR] Connection to irc://irc.synirc.net/ (irc://irc.synirc.net/) reset. [Help]
[13:39] [INFO] Connecting to irc://irc.synirc.net/ (irc://irc.synirc.net/)… [Cancel]

[13:39] === *** Checking ident...
[13:39] === *** Couldn't resolve your hostname; using your IP address instead
[13:39] === *** No ident response; username prefixed with ~

I think you might be okay if you enabled your ident. This will require forwarding port 113 UDP in your router and enabling the ident server in your IRC client software. Unable to resolve hostname is a reverse DNS issue and there isn't anything you can do about that. I am on AT&T DSL and about half the IP's I get issued don't resolve.

I don't have ident enabled and I don't get tossed off Undernet IRC, even when I'm on an unresolved IP.
