Someone help me please fix my msn messenger? It crashes and hangs
I usually am pretty good at fixing computer problems but now I am completely dumbfounded and seek help. My Msn Messenger stops responding after about a minute of signing in. I have tried many methods of getting it to work.
1.I used to have this problem and I uninstalled JAVA and FLASH PLAYER and it seemed to work again, the problem is this time it seems to stop responding even with JAVA and Flash player uninstalled. 2. I have tried reinstalling messenger and again deleting messenger with a program called ZAP MESSENGER but still no luck. 3. I have tried running it under administrator but the program still freezes. - Although it use to say 'program has stopped responding' it now just freezes untill i go to task tray and end the task 4. I have tried 'repairing messenger' under programs and features but the same problem is there 5. I have tried installing a older version of messenger but the crash is still present 6. My Msn Messenger seems to work sometimes but other times it just crashes instantly. 7. I have updated my directX but still no change 8 . I have tried simply restarting my computer and the crash is still there 9. I have tried doing a clean disk and using a registry cleaner program but still no luck 10. I have used a anti virus scan and spy scanner and none found 11. I have also tried unchecking the box about viewing WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER TODAY and there is still no change and freezes 12 - I've tried deleting everything within messenger in APP DATA to clear the cache, then disk cleaned and reinstalled although it still crashes 13 - I've tried changing parts of the registry so it does not connect to slow websites, still did not do anything 14 - I have all the latest updates for VISTA NEW DATA: When I sign in using other accounts, my msn does not crash?!?! any help? I just deleted a bunch of contacts, i had 300 there and i thought that could be reason for crash like maybe the server is crashing because of it, i deleted a 100 and it seems to be ok but will keep you posted and i will try logging in on another computer

Ok since deleting the contacts my messenger hasnt crashed yet, I think this is solved
