when trying to update i got a pop up saying proplus.msi is on a network resource not available. error 1706. in office all programs are available except acess and exell.my problem started when i notice that s.p.3 would not fully load.when i click acess or exell i get a message Microsoft office is not genuine advantage.i have xp pro disc.i tried every thing i know(which is not much) to fix.went to Microsoft but they did not help.

I assume this is XP SP3 operating system? What version of Office is this?

glc this 2oo2.i do not understand why Microsoft claims that the software is not genuine. i have the CD and key # stuck to the side of the tower.

The sticker is probably for Windows XP. Office goes through a separate validation.

now i am confused.if i uninstall office will this solve my problem. i now know what happened i think. i had a problem a while back and brought comp. to a local shop, when i picked it he said he installed a few programs for me.when i got home i removed them. i thought that office came with windows not to bright.i do not need office.mostly graphics and internet. if i uninstall office will i be able to down load sp 3?

Office does not come with Windows, and it's commercial software. If it's failing validation, the shop installed pirated software. Yes, uninstall it and then see what happens.

glc i uninstalled office last night.a short time ago i check add remove sp3 shows to be there. went to update check for updates review and install. shows no high priority updates are available.so i think it might be ok. thank you for your help and support.
