Need to automate tasks inside an app

OS is windows xp 64 bit

The dilemma is:
I have a bunch of audio files that I need to open inside Sony Sound Forge v10b. There are too many files to open all at once, so I will need to open them one at a time. Once a file is open in the app, I have to hit Alt+E, hit R, hit M, hit enter, save the file, and close it. Then open the next file and repeat.

I have a few hundred of these files. Doing this manually would obviously be very time consuming and a general pain in the butt. I have a small amount of programming experience, probably enough where I could design a macro to do this task for me if it wasn't hard to design. However, I don't know much about designing macros, or even whether a macro could be designed to accomplish this task.

Any and all ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You need automation software. I use automation software to test software in my job but the software I use is expensive and requires license renewal every year so I don't recommend it for your use. I found this software: Workspace-Macro-Pro-Automation that might work for you. I've never used it so I can't say whether it's good or bad but it's a place for you to start.

I was Googling around for a macro a little while back that would allow me to do something with an internet radio station. In the process, I ran across quite a bit of macro software and some of it was quite sophisticated. Some was freeware and some was not. I don't remember all of what I ran across, but there was quite a bit available.
