JAVA will not uninstall

I have a script error problem with JAVA. It seems to be only effecting my Netflix account page where it was extremely slow to change movie selections. It happens with IE* and Firefox.

They informed me that my JAVA was corrupted.

I have tried in vain to remove JAVA. It seems that the corrupt files are preventing this.

After using add/remove I get an error that says the installation failed. If I try to reinstall, the installation fails.

I have tried to remove every registry entry for JAVA. I removed every file after a "search".

JAVA has no instructions for this problem and no complete uninstall tool. That really pisses me off.

Thanks

I've been using JavaRa lately to remove old Java installs. It says it will remove older versions and download the newest version for you....but....I don't know whether it will make a difference if your current corrupt install version is the newest one or not. Meaning, will it look at it and say "Hey, you're up to date already." and not remove it? Dunno. Never had that scenario. It's always removed older versions fine though, so it's worth a shot.

I used MSICUU2.exe from MS to remove corrupted Java install before. MS doesn't offer it for download any longer because it could possibly cause other problems. You can find it by doing a search for it. I'd use it as a last resort.

Java

Thanks- I tried the JAVARA tool and still cannot uninstall- JAVA 6 update 23 from add/remove programs. Still receive "Fatal Error" on the installation.

I selected both options and the "additional tasks" options. Log file does show removal of some files.

Script errors continue on Netflix.

Here's a page of links where you can possibly DL msciuu2.exe. It worked for me when JavaRA didn't.

Java

Thanks- That did remove JAVA from add remove programs.

Why Java and Netflix do not have this information to begin with is what gets me mad.

Any software installed, should have complete uninstall information.

Lovely - I used javara to get the latest java and remove old versions, and MSE just found 2 exploits in my jar cache.

Meaning?.....did JavaRa download a bad version of the new java or are you saying they were in the old versions? I've never had it download anything bad (yet), but anything's possible I guess.

Looks like the new version of Java has a couple exploits. I did the download and cleanup Sunday, and my Sunday night MSE scan hit on them.

JAVA Script

According to Netflix, My Java program listed in add/remove programs, has nothing to do with my script errors in IE8 and Firefox. I only receive these script errors when using my Netflix movie Queue.

It seems that the errors are caused by JAVA Script.

I have no clue how to repair/reinstall this software or even where it comes from. I am not sure if it is part of the browser software.

Any information would be helpful.

IE8 and Firefox ?
It's usually just an IE problem and the problem is with the site not your computer.

If you are visiting a website which shows an error, you obviously can't fix it but if you're feeling generous you might like to contact the webmaster and let them know. You can still view the page (disabling automatic error messages will make it easier), but whatever the script was supposed to do won't work. This may or may not effect on the functionality of the page.

Java

Just tried Google Chrome with no problems.

Netflix does not have a webmaster and their tech support says my Java script files are corrupt, contact PC maker and its my problem.

I'm going to uninstall/reinstall IE8 and Firefox to see if that helps.

Thanks
