Microsoft Office 2010 Home And Student, 2 Users

A friend recently purchased Microsoft office 2010 Home and Student, 2 Users. He advises me that it is licensed for 2 users and has asked me if I would like to be one of the users. I am not a student, but could use the software.

Unfortunately, I suspect that under the terms of the End users license Agreement, the 2 computers onto which the software was downloaded would have to be on the same premises and belong to the licensee, or the second computer would have to be portable and, again, belong to licensee. However, i am not absolutely certain of this.

Could you please clarify whether it would be legal for me to download and use this software.

It's a gray area. Technically, you don't qualify but nowhere in the activation process will Microsoft be able to tell.
