iTunes update 1/27/11 ...
The new one is here : Apple - iTunes - Download iTunes Now
Spare yourself grief, do the download and update separately.

The automatic update, which downloads and installs in one go, is what can gives folks problems (Especially when everybody else and his cousins are doing the same thing at the same time.).
Do a separate download from the Apple site and, when that's done and you know there have been no glitches with the download, then install. It will only take a few more minutes and can spare you a lot of aggravation. If you've had previous install/update problems or you skipped the last (few ?) installs then you have some more steps. Uninstall your current iTunes/Quicktimes but leave the database files alone ( Your iTunes Media files will be untouched but you've got them backed up anyway, right?!?!). Now install the latest update.
