Backup partially filled HD to smaller HD?

Do any backup programs allow this?

I tried doing this with DriveImage XML

Backing up my C drive, which is 600 gb, but only 50 gb being used.

Backed it up (total size about 50gb), tried to restore it to a separate drive, a 100 gb partition.

Driveimage wont let me restore to the 100 gb partition because the original source drive is 600 gb, even though it's only 50 gb of data that i'm restoring

The reason for this is because I am switching my main drive because the new one is faster.
Thanks!

Yup, Acronis will allow you to do that. You can make an exact clone to a smaller drive so long of course that your data does not exceed the new drives capacity.

http://www.acronis.com/download/

The boot disk in my experience seems to work better.

If you have a WD or Seagate drive, you can download their version of Acronis free (Acronis WD Edition or Seagate Disk Wizard).
