2007 Outlook unable to open hyperlinks from emails
Hi
Today just found that for some unknown reason I can not open any hyperlinks in office outlook, either from the old or new email messages. I just get a message saying: "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator" Every thing worked fine yesterday I have no trouble using the internet opening and closing hyperlinks etc. I'm using windows XP AMD Athlon 64FX processor 3Gb ram 7800 Asus GTX Asus A8N-E mb Any help would be much appreciated Mark |

Can you test with Outlook Express? Just want to see if it's Outlook-related or OS wide.
Update: Does this help? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310049

You need to check your outgoing mail server settings - if you are not on your "home" network and your server is set to use the standard SMTP port 25, it may be getting blocked by the network that you are using. This is very common as an anti-spam measure. Until you can get this sorted with your e-mail provider and with the ISP that you are currently using, you may have to use webmail.

thanks for the advise. i just checked my server settings. and yes: they are on smtp port 25. since i already had some service issues with my provider, i just decided to try to get the settings done on thunderbird, and: voila! it works as usual (and i really like the new thunderbird!) but thanks for the advise! |
