windows installer damaged.
Hi!!
I've got an AOA150 Acer, windows xp sp3. when I run program installation, and press the 3rd button on the left to install Windows components, an error message pops up stating that it is impossible to open the master information file. After pressing ok, it states Impossible to start the application. There're many errors in the computer, but the most important one for sure has to do with this, and I guess one of its consequences is that no external drive (pen, HD, etc) can be read when plugged into the usb port. The network connection folder is empty, and wifi icon has disappeared from the icon tray pannel by the clock. what to say... I could have try to reinstall windows but... I've got a lot of files (50Gb) in the computer I must not loose, and I can't pull out without the usb working. Thanks in advance =) =D |

You'll have to hook up your hard drive to another computer to get your files out and then reformat and reinstall. If you had two partitions on that hard drive then it'd be all much easier: just move your personal files to that partition and reformat the one the OS is on.

Remove the hard drive and connect it to another computer - it should be a standard SATA drive. Rescue your files then reinstall it and run the Acer eRecovery to bring it back to factory specs.
