Is it under warranty?

Visually inspect USB ports for bent pins, if bent, or damaged, you will probably have to replace the board. If you have warranty, send it in, you will have to contact Lenovo for an RMA.

If no warranty, Lets do this.

Manually create a restore point and call it USB Issue so you can easily find it in the event you need it, I doubt you will.

Lets check you device manager for a yellow sign with exclamation point. What I think we will find is a yellow mark next to the host controllers.

Right click on those, select properties, select driver tab, look for the driver version number, write it down. See if it will let you roll back the driver (not grayed out), you may get lucky but I doubt it.

If roll back is available and you do it, It will ask you to reboot and say yes. IF you do not see an error message on reboot, you may be good.

Go back into device manager again, Any yellow marks? If not, cross your fingers and hope it does not return. If still there, look at the driver version again and write it down.

You may have two driver versions written down at this point or maybe just one depending on you rolling back the driver.

Look for an updated chip-set driver on the Lenovo web site. Download an install and check device manager for yellow marks.

You could also try a live distribution of linux on a cd to see if it will load and boot. More than likely you have to replace the motherboard

Disconnect all your USB devices and see if it still does it.
