I have Copernic Desktop Search trial that expired. All attempts I've made to remove the program results in the PC restarting. I've put the PC in safe mode and tried removing it with Add/Remove, CCleaner's Unistall as well as MyUnistaller program from Nirsoft. All attempts to take it out of the "startup" folder have failed as well. I also reinstalled the trial then tried to remove it with no luck. I tested removing other programs with Add/Remove and it worked properly, just won't remove Copernic.
At first I thought the reasons for the constant restarting was due to an overheated CPU. According to the ASUS Suite (MB utility) the CPUs temps were ranging from 101-109 degrees FH. Do you think purchasing and installing the program could fix this issue?: Any ideas...this is very frustrating?! Specs: O/S: XP Pro Service Pk 3 Processor: Core 2 Duo at 2.40 ghz each Memory: 2.4 Gigs (usable) 4 Gigs installed |

Have you looked all through Copernic's web site support section?

No I haven't. I'll check to see if there's helpful information there.

I'd strongly advise against purchasing the program. I'd rather reinstall Windows.
Have you tried Revo Uninstaller?

Try running malwarebytes see if it comes up malicous and use malwarebytes to uninstall.
Also, make sure to delete the folder that might be left over in the C: As recommended in a previous post there is Revo and there is also pc-decrapifier they can be found on cnet.com What ever you do, do not purchase a program that is giving you grief. Try pc-decrapifier first then Revo then after that scan with Malwarebytes.

Hey Guys,
Good news!! The Revo Uninstaller seems to have done the trick. I performed a "forced uninstall" and Revo was able to locate all the straggler files and folders related to Copernic. This was a head scratcher to say the least so thanks everyone for your help!! |
