I was wondering if anybody has any experience with choosing to burn the label or the movie first. Or if there's any evidence, proof, or logic to burning one before the other.

I read somewhere(not sure where)that it was best to burn one of them first. Of course I forgot which one was suggested and why. So does anybody have any clues on the subject?

Have you considered testing this?
Guessing you're doing it one way already... So just reverse the process

I've burned the audio portion first, but I don't know which is best. I guess my thinking was if the audio burn messed up, my time was wasted doing the visual.

I've done it both ways, and haven't paid attention(or noticed) if the label is done better or not based on that.

Q-man that's a good concept. I ususaly base it on which one will take longer. A simple label can burn in 5 minutes. A two hour disc burns in about 7-8 min. So depending on how much graphics there are, determines which I burn first. I have noticed that some discs burn the lablels better but have never associated it to process.

Burn the disk first, then the label. Why? If you wind up with a coaster you wasted your label burn time.

Yeh, that's pretty much what Q-maqn said.

I may just for the heck of it, see if there is a difference in graphic quality by burning the lablel first. I really can't imagine there being a difference. Discs are temperd at an extreme degree. I don't remember what is it was, but I checked that before dropping one in boiling water.
