After effects makes videos laggy.

Im using a trial version of after effects cs5.5 and it makes my videos lag.

There is like a slight frame lag. the lags that you see in video games.

at first i thought it was with in after effects. but i when i renderd it out (loseless render) it was still the same.

basically it takes a normal footage and makes it laggy. ( no effects)

Your specs appear adequate however the card is not on the list at the end but I am not convinced this is a hardware performance problem. What are your hard drive specs?

Do you have live update turned off?

Live Update
Updates images in the Composition or Layer panel during interactions. When Live Update is deselected, After Effects displays wireframe representations during interactions. To turn Live Update mode on or off, click the Live Update button , at the top of the Timeline panel.
