MS Access 2000
Hello all,
We have here at work an MS Access Database that is about full to capacity. We want to compact the database. The issue we are running into is the fact that Access will not allow us to compact the database. If we try to delete any portions of the database we are returned an invalid argument. The same occurs when we try to do a normal compaction of the database. Is there any other way of removing files or deleting files from the database? Thanks Chris

The size limit for an access database is 2GB. It sounds like you may have outgrown it.
To options--start archiving data, or go with a real database solution, such as MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle RDBMS. Archive Access data - Access - Office.com

Force, does this apply to MS Access 2000 as well. I know 2000 is very out dated and unfortunately we must like using old version of programs at my engineering firm. In any event, we have compressed the files numerous times, and just cannot do it anymore as we are at the limit as you stated.
