Windows Photo Viewer makes pictures hidden

Hello,

Windows Photo Viewer is behaving very oddly. If you open a pic and close it with the cross top right, all's fine. But if you open a pic and rotate it, then close with the top right cross, it makes the pic vanish from the directory listing. What it seems to be doing is making the pic hidden.
Surely closing in WinPhotoViewer is not saving, so why's it doing this?
I'm using Windows 7.
Suggestions for how to resolve this, much appreciated. I guess I'll just have to manually deselect "hidden" in the properties in every pic WinPhotoViewer has messed with one by one, unless anyone knows a mass fix for that.
Cheers,
Dazzer

I fixed the title for you in the index.

Can't help you fix Windows Photo Viewer, but I can suggest you download Irfanview (free) and make that your default viewer.

Thanks GLC.

Windows Photo Viewer has only just started this odd behaviour recently. I shall try Irfanview and choose another default immediately.

Still curious why Windows Photo Viewer's gone mad.

Cheers,
