Greetings,
After plugging in a Nikon to download pictures (Which I have done 100 times previously), an error message pooped up saying: "WDDM Service not working". I checked the camera on another machine with and it worked as usual. When I rebooted the machine where I got the error message, it started, but was missing the sound (Real-Tek) card. My preliminary searches, pointed to "WD Smartware" conflict and recomended an un-install, but I got another error message saying: The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed". I have a bunch of WD externals which I disconected when rebooting. I have to tell You; I have sent more than one back for malfunctioning. Anyway, does anyone have a fix for this? Thanks for Your help!!! Jack

Try a system restore back to a date/time when it was still working correctly.

Thanks GLC!
Funny thing is that It won't restore previous to this point; which has never happened before! Jack
