ASUS Fan Xpert not working

Everything was fine until yesterday (I didn't install anything). Now sometimes ASUS Fan Xpert stops working. It does not freeze, I can change the fan speed settings (i.e. standard, silent etc.), but after I click "Apply" nothing happens. Also the cpu/mb temperature and cpu fan speed (not maxed) values are not changing in ASUS Suite. Restart doesn't solve the problem. Neither does system restore. Only after I shut the pc down and start it again, Fan Xpert would work.

Specs:
ASUS M4A88T-V EVO/USB3
AMD Phenom II X4 965 (not overclocked) with stock heatsink
2 x Samsung Original DDR3 10600 4 gb
PSU OCZ ModXtream Pro 700W

Thanks!

Can you use Q-fan alone on that board?

You mean in BIOS? Last time Fan Xpert stopped working I restarted and tried changing the fan settings in BIOS and seems the fan speed changed. But in the OS it was constant again. It worked only after I shut the computer down.

E-mail Asus support and yell at them.
This has turned up before and, sometimes, using Q-fan alone fixes it but it's basically an Asus problem.
You may end up flashing the bios or getting a new board.

Well, it's been working fine the last couple of days. I will email Asus if the problem occurs again.

Thanks, pam123!
