Backup program?
Does anybody know of a decent freebie backup software that is able to back up to a USB flash drive? I can only find one that sounds decent, called FBackup....any opinions on that one?
Basically here's the deal.....I used to use Nero (free version that came with one of my optical drives) to backup to CD-RWs. After you tell Nero which directories you want to back up, then the next time you want to back up, it will automatically go search those directories for anything different that has been added since the last backup session. So, in a nutshell, I'm looking for something like that....that will go and look in certain directories I specify for changes or even just backup the whole directory again......just so I don't have to go and drag and drop a whole bunch of files to the flash stick every single time. And like I said, I'm wanting it to be able to target a flash drive, because the CD-RWs were working okay, but there's getting to be quite a few of them and I figured one good sized flash drive would be quicker and easier than changing out all those CDs. And it's not overly important stuff, so I don't need a whole backup hard drive either. Just backing up things like wallpapers, malware programs, utilites, etc, so in the event of a crash, I don't have to go re-download hundreds of Megabytes worth of files on my dialup internet. Any ideas?

Have you tried to see if your Nero will back up to a flash drive? I think it will.

Yeah G, that was the first thing I tried. Newer versions of Nero might do it, but mine won't. Only gives me options of making backup discs. I think mine's like version 6 or so. It's pretty old.

You could try the free version of SyncBack or Microsoft's SyncToy.

I use the free version of Syncback. It works great.
I have found MS SyncToy to be very unreliable. |

I had never heard of that Syncback program, but I downloaded it, tried it and it does exactly what I want. Excellent program. Thanks for letting me know about that one.

So, if you wish, try again with it as it works quite well these days.

You lost me a little there... Are you saying that older versions of SyncToy were not so good? |
