Network Drive Manager monitor software

I am not sure if what I am looking for is truly a monitor or a scraper. I will apologize in advance. I have been searching the internet for shareware and pay software but have not found anything I am looking for.

Here is the functionality I would like to have, if possible.
  1. Define 2 or more folders on a network drive to monitor
  2. Weekly report showing contents of defined folders
  3. E-mail weekly reports
  4. E-mail alerts when there is activity in a defined folder

I am basically trying to monitor the drives that are on my FTP machine (DS209). Thank you for the help.

Just to be sure I understand you want to monitor changes (And be alerted when they occur) to specific folders?

Do you have Win7 and are you willing to use DropBox ?

Yes, I have Win 7. It is the machine I use as the primary interface for my FTP / Media Server. My three Apple TV units are mapped to the three folders that contain movies, kids shows, and music. I would like to have it e-mail my wife as I put files into the folders. That way she knows what is available and can casually look on her phone.

I do have a drop box but don't know how it might help me.

Thank you.

Guessing that you already thought about simply sending her an email anytime you add files

Here's a couple of tools that would help you to manually do what you're wanting to do:

Snap2HTML is a small, portable application that lets you create a snapshot of a given folder structure and publish it as HTML page. Unlike many other tools that create a simple index list, Snap2HTML outputs a nicely formatted page that uses modern techniques and looks much like an application window.

Berkes Notify allows you to monitor a specified directory and be notified if files are changed, added or deleted. The program runs from the command line and pops up a small dialog if changes are detected. Small simple and useful.

I was thinking you could keep a file in DropBox and note any updates there. That way your wife would always have access.
I've heard of Berkes Notify but haven't had occasion to use it so if you decide to use EzyStvy's suggestion please post back and let us know how it goes.

Thanks.

I think I will give Snap2HTML a try. The more that I give this thought I may just have to manually publish the contents of any given folder. I may see if XYplorer can do it. I think it can output the folder structure to Open Office.

I will give them each a try and see which puts out the best product.

Thanks again.
