Anti-Addictive software
Title says it all. I'm in need of a software that helps me to stop using computer but go and study. Is there any software that allows me to set it up as inaccessible for certain time ? Like unable to use till 8:00 pm which gives me enough time to cover my studying and do hw.
I have tried couple of ways to stay away from PC but its very hard. PS: Suggestion like allowing my roommate to put a password is difficult. 1 that I have private stuff. 2 my IT works are there. 3 he works most of the time and may not be around when its in need. thanks for your concern/s!

Is there any booze that helps one stay away from alcohol?
All it really takes is willpower.

I understand that ideally willpower is enough, Nuk, but the comparison to alcohol is a flawed one. I would say he is more looking for someone to help him lock up his proverbial liquor and limit his access to it to where he won't drink too much or at the wrong times.

I am not going to lecture you about self-control, but they are right.
In the mean time until you get your uncontrolled desires under control, there is parental control software that can limit when and how much you can use the computer. It can also lock out certain websites and certain types of websites. Install the parental control software and then let someone that you trust set a password that he or she keeps secret from you.

I actually give him credit in at least trying to find controls. That is more than many do.

Well, there was this fellow who would not stop drinking, so one time, when he went to see his doctor, the physician prescribed him a drug that would turn his urine red, and warned him of possible kidney damage if he didn't stop bending the elbow. The bloke wrote the doctor off, but upon taking his first piss once he started taking the medicine, he did quit.
