Outlook 2010

Since yesterday I started to have trouble sending e mail. I compose as normal however when I send the e mail it does not get sent. It goes into my Outbox. I have this book for dummies but it does not cover this problem and can't seem to figure it out. Anyone have any ideas, thanks Bob

I did a test, all other computors in my office can send e mail except mine.

The error message says I cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server

You need to compare the SMTP settings on the bad pc to the settings on a working pc. Odds are you'll find the difference.

I just checked all the settings and both boxs are the same. The reporting error is (0X80042109) if that helps.

That error gives the message "Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server."

There is a problem with your account settings in outlook. Maybe a typo somewhere or a missed authentication option.

Ok I finally fixed it. Under the repair account page theres a box for more settings. That brings me to the Internet E-mail Settings, under the advanced tab the number next to the Outgoing server (SMTP) was different on the computor that worked. So I changed the number and it started to send all my mail. Thanks for the help, Bob
