Boom Problems Downloading from Internet

Hello Folks.

I have IE 5.5 SP2 installed on W2k and I'm having some trouble downloading .EXE files from the internet. For example, I've been trying to download some software from ZDNET and when I click on the "Download Now" link I'm taken to a blank browser screen with an image placeholder in the upper left corner. Usually I would get the window asking if I want to run from the current location or save to disk but this never appears. Most of the time I have to right-click on some of these links and choose Save Target As but this doesn't work for all links. I've had this problem from several different web sites.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Wanabe
