I need VideoCD authoring software.

Hi,

I’m trying to use an Iomega 12x4x32 CD-RW on a new XP computer I built. The software I have for it is Easy CD Creator 3.0. I learned from Roxio’s website that the 5.0 version, plus a download, is required to run on XP.

So I need new software, but I was going to avoid Roxio’s product because of some suggestions on these boards. My questions are:

1.
Will CD-burning software other than Roxio’s work with my Iomega ZipCD drive?

2.
What kind of software should I look for to author VideoCDs from MPEG files created on Pinnacle Studio 7 (specific brands, packages, versions, would be helpful)?

Thanks.

1. Yes.

2. Nero, latest version is 5.5.9.0, you can download a 30 day trial from nero.com.

2. Nero, WinOnCD, or VCDEasy

From what I've read about others VCDeasy seems to be one of the best softwares for VCD/SVCD authoring. It's freeware, btw.

Hey thanks. I'll try them both. I might even pick up an ASUS CD-RW from New Egg that comes bundled with Nero, because I want to put the Iomega in a different machine.

Better would be a LiteOn 40x or 48x CD-RW. LiteOn is very good qualiy and also very cheap. And the 40x and up support Mt. Rainier. Dunno if they come with Nero or not.

Yes, in the US, Lite-Ons come with Nero. Don't diss the Asus burners, they are getting excellent reviews.
