mp3 player programs

I am currently putting together a collection of mp3 files and would like to know if there are any mp3 players on the market with the capability to access multiple hard drives at the same time without using a raid config to make drives look like one.My database of mp3s will exceed 200gig[closer to 400gig] when completed and I would like to be able to play music from any of four hdd without having to respecify pathways each time a file is on a different hdd.My current system has raid capability but I dont like it for this purpose because if anything happens to one of the hdd the entire collection would be lost.I will be spending about six months to compile complete collection.I am not just doing single songs but complete albums.I currently have 4-40gig drives but will be replacing them with 4-120gig units but until then I would like to continue to rip files [1-40gig full---have started on second] but to listen to music I have to respecify pathway from e: to d: to listen to the 8600 tracks already ripped

also Back-up those mp3's Cd's are cheap.

Have you ever encoded-decoded mp3 to WMA's just curiuos I did a few and some were compacted more and some weren't?? I read you have like 12 hours of mp3's on a cd and 20 hours of wma on a cd ?? I'd like to know how

gladiator mobo is shuttle ak35gtr[highpoint raid controler built into but everyone is doing it now] backing up files is not as costly as you may think just wait until deals in stores for cdr packs free after rebates and buy or buy 100 pcks for about 15.00 on sale you'll need 600 700mb cdrs to back up 400gig of data-thats about $100.00 for cdrs and you are backing up $104,000.00 of music [8000 music cds @ 13.00 each] --you get about 11hrs 40mins mp3 on a 700mb cdr [compression rate is less than 10%] I am not doing wma but cd are being ripped at 128 byte rate for sound quality to mp3s and can be returned to wave file to make regular cd for any player without too much sound quality loss[custom cds like ones sold in stores and on tv for $15.00 each

Let's be careful about copyright infringement issues here, please. I know you can legally back up media that you own the originals for, but anything else is getting questionable and we don't allow such discussions here.

Hey Vah I been busy trying to get my burner working on my new HD. to no avail GRRRR

I was curiuos why'd you want to have that big a playlist.

I been converting all MY CD's that I bought and paid for ,to mp3's so I can burn more then just 75 mins of music to one CD, my car stereo can play mp3's I also mixed up MY FAVORITES CD so I don't have to carry 10 cd to hear just one or two songs off of each one.
Thats why I was asking you about WMA because you are suppose to be able to compress more music using that format ?
