Some programs won't play specific cd
I just got a new cd today and I'm having some weird problems with it. It plays fine in my cd players, and it plays fine on my computer if I use the windows cd player under accessories. The weird thing is that it won't play with my creative playcenter software, which is what I like to listen to my cd's with. I also tried windows media player and it won't work with that either. the programs don't even recognize that there is a cd in my drive. when I explore the drive just in windows I can't see any files in it. This cd is different from every other cd I own. I do recall hearing something about some technology used on it that prevents one from ripping the files off it. Is it this technology that is also preventing me from playing it with some programs? Has anyone else ever heard of this kind of thing before? The cd was put out by a very small record company in Europe, only about 8,000 were printed.
