MIDI Translation

Is there a program to break down MIDIs and figure out what notes or channels or whatnots they are using?

I should probably research the format before I ask, but does anyone know a program or better yet explain the format?

Respectfully,

Demosthenes

Any of these programs will do that.

I've used Noteworthy Composer before and it's pretty good. Once you open the file you'll understand how it works just from playing around with it.
