BIOS Flashing!

First of all, I hope I posted this in the correct forum!! Okay, here's my question; I just obtained a new MB, a Gigabyte GA-7VTXE, and I flased the BIOS up F-8, the most recent. When I flashed to F-6, or F-7, it gave my MB support for the AMD 2000+, but now that I flashed to F-8, will my MB still be able to contend with the XP-2000+? In other words, does the new BIOS overwrite the older one, or just amend it? I know I could just get another MB to support this processor, but I really like this GA-7VTXE alot and, granted, it isn't a hi-proformance board, but it does what I want it too do and, more importantly, it is stable. Thanks!!!!!!!!!

Bios updates are cumulative. The flash is a complete reprogram that should have all the features of the previous versions in addition to the latest fixes.
