Need help removing unwanted SW

Dear sir/madam,

I have unsucessfully installed system commander 2000 (DOS) on my PC. I was playing around with the program and made an attempt to install it, which has gone wrong. I am not sure if should have installed it on a FAT 32 file system (Windows 98), but I have. The problem is that when the PC boots up every time, I get an error message - "Boot error, cannot run system commander : disk error". Underneath the error message, I am prompted to enter a number (0-3) of a disk partition to boot from. When I selected to boot from partion 0, the PC boots up OK. I would like to restore my system, so I do not need to select a partition to boot from. I have tried to uninstall the program using the buil-in option, but to no avail.

I am very much hoping, that you can help me remove this sw from my system, and preferably without too much difficulty and loss of data.

Help much appreciated.

Thanks

Jas

Try this. Boot the machine with a Windows 98 startup floppy (bootdisk). At the A prompt, type the following:

fdisk /mbr (enter)

sys c: (enter)

What does the sys command do, glc? Does it restore the system files or something like that?
