Question SQL Server licensing

Quick SQL Server licensing question. Organization has SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition with a per-processor license. My impression is that the client software (Enterprise Manager, Query Analyzer, etc.) can be installed on any number of computers. Am I wrong or right?

That's right. The client software is just that: a client. The Server licensing pertains only to what goes on on the server. A per-seat license refers to the number of concurrent connections to the server. Thus, a 5-seat license means that five clients can be connected to the server concurrently.
The per-processor licensing gives (theoretically) as many concurrent connections that the server can handle. That's why it is so much more expensive and targeted to the "enterprise" customers.

I was pretty sure of that, but I need to convince the IS person in charnge of the SQL Server that he isn't violating anything by putting the client software on my PC. Do you happen to have a website or other documentation that says this explicitly that I could point to?

Hey doctor-
licensing specs and docs should already be installed on the server.
