WinMX
Do you actually manage to download anything with WMX? All I see always are thousands of "queued", 0 of 12 available and things like those.

Download NapMX - it will give you access to multiple open-nap servers.
Otherwise, WinMX is hit-or-miss. If you do find a fast connection, browse the collection offered. You may find what you are looking for. Good luck. |

So how do you use napMX? I use the "update list" and I have a list alright. But how do you use it in conjuction with WinMX? Or how do you download from this other open nap servers?

It gets a list of open-nap servers, then you open WinMX and add it to its compliment of servers by clicking Export.

With all the times I see people posting threads about P2P software I see WinMX mentioned a lot but I also see Kazaa Lite mentioned too. I can't believe I'm the first one to mention it in this thread. Either way, I have the same problem with WinMX, you get all these people with what you are looking for but you on a queue that sometimes takes 3days before it's your turn and then even though they say they are using high speed internet access the download is slower than dial-up. Well what I found if I can't get what I want on a moments notice with WinMX I guarantee I will get it within the next 15minutes (mostly less) with Kazaa Lite which supposely is spyware free. But even if it does have spyware, I use my lavasoft software and it takes it right out for me.

The problem with Kazaa is not only the spyware. That blasted program always finds nice ways to screw up systems real bad. I wouldn't touch Kazaa or Kazaa Lite even with a ten feet pole.

I've had to reformat and reinstall Win in several client's machines because of Kazaa.

heh jus try hitting FIND sources on the file your trying to download in winmx, you'll get bunch of points to download from.... unless the file is jus to rare. Winmx is the best File sharing app for me anymore, Audio galaxy was better and faster, but its gone now
