MPEG encoding software
I want some software that will allow me to encode videos in the proper format for VCDs. Hopefully it will have premade settings for VCDs, and be cheap/freeware/shareware. Thanks 2 all.

Go to www.vcdhelp.com. They have plenty of tools there -- the best of hte bunch is probrably TMPGEnc.

Yep, TMPGEnc is the way to go. For MPEG-1 it is freeware (MPEG-2 is only trial and unlimited MPEG-2 costs $49).
Also it has premade settings (templates) for VCD, also a wizard (might be good if youre a complete novice). Also don't forget VCDeasy www.vcdeasy.org for the authoring and burning (it does a better job than Nero). RJ
