1st time Partition Magic user

Wanting to use Partition Magic 7 to set up a couple partitions on my two hard disks. Will be using Windows Xp and 98. Both are already on the disks. Any one have any advice for me before I jump into it? Any issues I should know about? Already installed the program along with Boot Magic 7 on the drive with 98 on it.

Yes backup any data that is important to you and READ the directions thoroughly. Make sure you aren't using any drive overlay programs.
PM is great software but it's not point and click to see if it works. Used incorrectly it can and will hose your drive. If you are the one that set up the drives originally and know what's on there you'll most likely have a high degree of success with PM. But if they were set up by an OEM it would be better to just start over with clean drives.
Anytime you alter drive geometry you are entering into a risky situation. If it has already been altered by another program you about a one in a million chance of being successful. As long as you read the instructions and understand the risks involved you should be fine. But if you try something that PM recommends against you may render the drive unuseable.
