Spellcheck not working in word

The problem is that the spellcheck on my other computer is not working in word (of course its not working in outlook express either) It just stopped working for no apparant reason. I have uninstalled Office and reinstalled it but still no luck. To make sure it was not a fault with the installation disk, I installed Office on another computer that I have and no problems, it worked fine in word and outlook express.
So I uninstalled it again and reinstalled it but it still does the same thing. when I click on the spellcheck button in word, it goes straight to word count, no spellcheck. I have looked in word tools and "spelling and grammar" is ticked, so I guess it should work but it doesn't.
Why doesn't it work on one computer and work on the other. any suggestions on this ones? Its a pain not being able to run the spellcheck. Thanks guys

could it be that there is no misspelled words, and it is working fine,
type a misspelled word and it will be underlined as soon as it is typed.
be sure that a feature is not disabled.

I ran into this one awhile back on a XP machine. When I logged in as administrator, the spell check was there. When I logged in as a normal user, it was missing. The fix was to change permissions on a registry key. I don't know if this is your problem but it may help.

Cool

Another possible solution is to consider downloading ABIword (off of download.com) it's a free word program developed originally for linux, that works great with word documents (you can open and save them in it) and it has a built in dictionary. (it's also very small and quick to download)

have you looked at Microsoft's Support web site http://support.microsoft.com?

You don't say what version of word, outlook, or windows, which makes it harder for us to help you with.

How about helping us out?

What version of Windows? 95? 98? Me? XP?

Which version of Word? 95? 97? 2000? XP?

Which version of Outlook Express?
