Burning CD problem
Having fitted a CDRW into a friends PC everything went well until i tried a test recording of one of his CD's. On playing it back the tracks were ok but in the two second gap between tracks a loud hiss was heard for approx 1 second. I tried it in his home CD player and exactly the same thing occured. I have fitted many CD burners with Nero and never had a problem before. Any ideas?

Hi Doug,
What are your friends' systems' specs? What cdrw are you using? One thing I can think off of the top of my head, is DMA enabled on the cdrw? HTH |

Hi guys
floppyman: system specs, Lite-on CDRW 40x, win98se, 750Mhz Duron, 384Mb PC 133, can't remember what M/B. Tworails: he bought a ten pack of discs from the local computer store + IDE cable. He told me his PC had been freezing a lot so i ran SFC and replaced one system file. It did not freeze again whilst i was their. When i fitted the drive the secondary IDE channel was disabled in BIOS so i re-enabled it and all worked well. I must admit i forgot to check whether DMA was enabled. I will address that next week when i see him as he lives forty miles away. Not a lot by todays standards i know but i commute 80 miles a day to work by motorcycle so dont want to travel on my weekend off! thanks for the advice. |
