Something in conflict ?
I downloaded my digital pictures from my Canon to Photoshop Elements, manipulate it and mail it and after everything, PS E refuses to start anymore. It says "unrecoverable system error" after loading the PS E files and then quit to desktop.
Normally, when I plug my dig camera to my computer, it usually ask me where I want to send the pictures to; I usually choose Canon Zoombrowser (it came with the camera) but this time round I chose PS Elements instead. Tried reinstalling PS E but same error message. Was this the cause or just a coincidence ? How should I go about rectifying it ? Mike |

Start by uninstalling the whole package, including PS E and Zoombrowser through Add/Remove programs in control panel.
After a restart, a complete reinstall may sort it out. |

If that doesn't work, if you have 98, hit ctrl-alt del and disable programs one by one to see if there is a conflict. Be careful not to disable the program you are trying to fix. Do not try to end systray or explorer. You can also use your configuration utility and restart after disabling programs.

Hi Brent, Jim
I reinstalled Zoombrowser and PS Elements - Same problem Alt-Ctr-Del one program at a time - Same problem I noted the error message - PS Elements says "An error occurred while loading due to system or hardware error - unfortunately the error is unrecoverable" What gives ? Michael Could it be a hardware issue ? |

I'm guessing a USB interface.
Boot to safe mode, remove all USB devices from device manager, restart and let them reinstall. If it's not USB, post back with specifics. If it really is a hardware conflict, it may be a little more difficult to sort. |

After much trial and error, the problem when away when I uninstall Adobe Acrobat 4. Strange thing is Acrobat 4 has been installed for quite awhile and somehow the problem "triggered" (?) out when I download my Canon digital camera images directly to Photoshop Elements.
