Yahoo! Chat v2.0 (can't load it, now!)
"DHTML unable to load correctly(no pop-up object)"
"DHTML unable to load correctly(no voice object)" These are the error msgs I get when attempting to run Yahoo!Chat v(2.0) The only recent change I've made to my system is upgrading from Symantec Internet Security 2002, to 2003. Is there a setting or something else that would cause this issue?? I don't think* its a 'firewall thing' at this point, as the older one(Internet Security 2002) worked fine with Yahoo!, and I think its set up the same. **One thing I noted in the browser's "Downloaded Program Files" is a file called "Java runtime Environment 1.3.1" and it says the status is "damaged". Is this file a possible culprit? If so how do I replace it? I was using the Chat module prior to installing the newer I.S. 2003, but have no idea if its a coincidence or possible cause.(?) (Note: the older 'Java' version(selectable, but inferior!) of "Yahoo!Chat" will work fine, if selected. ) Thanks in advance, for any possible insight into the newer Yahoo! Chat software! I doubt it's firewall related -- you're receiving a Dynamic HTML error -- and that could be java related. And if Java Runtime is damaged, my gut feeling that is your problem.

Any idea how to go about replacing it? If I DO 'remove' it from the Add/Remove Programs, will it request to install again next time its needed?? Bruce |
