Backup Software Recommendation

Can anyone recommend a good program for backups to CD-R. A friend recommended Backup-Now Deluxe Version 3 made by NTI. I downloaded their free trial and after installing got a message that trial period has expired. Called NTI Tech Support and was told that once this message comes up nothing can be done. So much for the free trial and their tech support.

I would like the program to work with 98 and XP.

I like Norton Ghost, but havn't used it to copy to cdR. My preference is to keep a second HD using ghost then restoring is a real snap. I do believe the newer versions if Norton Ghost do support backup to CDR.

I like Norton Ghost also but you have to backup all or nothing. I am looking for a program where I can select what I want to backup, only backup changes since last backup, and schedule desired backups.

Nero is a great burning program, but its backup facility is an all or nothing thing like Ghost.

So does ghost...

copy everything on a drive or partition? I have it, but I'm not sure if it actually copies the unmovable or "in use" files. I'm most concerned about it copying a whole working operating system from a partition and moving that and having it still work at the other end. (have not tried it).

I agree with GLC, Backup My PC by Stomp is an excellent utility.

I have used Nova BACKUP software from NOVASTOR corporation. It is very good software. Price is about $50. This is my personal choice and a suggestion. Good Luck.

I found Burn & Go Gold at OfficeMax for $19.99.

It's for Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP and uses Iomega as it's basic engine. You can find out more at www.valuesoft.com

Roy: Does that allow selective, incremental, and scheduled backups like Backup My PC and Novaback?
