Outlook Express and Leaving a copy on the server

I am confused. In Outlook Express if you navigate to:

Tools|Accounts|Mail|Properties|Advanced

You have the option of selection the check box:
Leave a copy of messages on server.

I also selected to leave it on the server for 5 days.

Once you read your mail and delete it though, how do you download another copy?

Does this make any sense?

The option is intended to be used to get the email on another pc.

Your current email has an "index" file that keeps track of the fact that it has already been downloaded and thus does not see it as new mail.

Send a message via MSN to doctorgonzo
Once you delete it in OE, you can't download another copy. OE sees it as deleted, and the only way to access it is from another place.

Having thought about this for a bit, you can "beat the system" by adding another identity and setting up your mail account. The idex file will be clean and detect the file as new. So long as the five day limit you setup hasn't expired.
