looking for a simple way to get screen shots

Sometimes I will have something on my screen that I would love a quick easy screen shot up. Normally I hit the print screen key then open up a paint program and paste it, then save it.

I was wondering if there is any program some of you may be aware of that would allow me to simply just hit one key or combo of keys that would take a screen shot and auto save the file to a folder, or even the desktop would be acceptable. Then i could edit them at a later time. Thanks for any and all replies.

Found one that may work for me.
Quick Screen Capture 1.0

here is the readme info
"Publisher: Howie's Funware
Date added: February 5, 1999
File size: 201K; Clock this download
License: Free
Uninstaller included?: No

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description
With Quick Screen Capture, you can capture an image of your entire screen and save it to a bitmap file. Just press F12 or the Print Screen button and a bitmap of your screen will be saved on your C: drive. You can then edit this file in your favorite paint program.

"
It does have an uninstaller included unlike the readme info. only thing I don't like about it, is that fact that it has to be on my taskbar, I would like it to be in the background out of site, but that is a minor issue. Well i am off to work. The other thing, i can edit the path as to where you want the files saved. I just made a folder for it to dump into. It suits me 99 percent.

Would like to just get a plug in for another great screen capture\video type software. It's called "Snag-It" from techsmith.com. I have used their products for years, great software.

Later!
