Norton Security Supervisor
I just installed NIS 2003, and put a password on Supervisor. Now, my problem. When it brought it up, well, I changed the name of Supervisor to something else.
Okay, now it wants password for supervisor, but refuses to take it. I cannot get anything else to come up that I can have it say supervisor, instead of the name I gave it, so therefore, can't change anything. To top it off, I can't even uninstall the thing. I tried starting up in safemode, I tried going to msconfig and unchecking all of it, but neither helped. Is there anyone out there, that may know how I can get this thing fixed. If there was a way I could get supervisor up and not the new name, I know it would be fine. I think, what the problem is in not accepting the password, is it is looking for the name of Supervisor, which I changed, not thinking it would make a difference. HELP.............anybody. I really didn't want to have to reformat the drive to get rid of it. Last edited by tinkerbell; 11-13-2002 at 08:46 PM. |

Hi tinkerbell,
Search the Symantec Knowledge Base for "supervisor password" and it will come up with an article on how to fix the problem. http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/nis...rch_other.html Hope this helps. |
