Norton Security Supervisor

I just installed NIS 2003, and put a password on Supervisor. Now, my problem. When it brought it up, well, I changed the name of Supervisor to something else.

Okay, now it wants password for supervisor, but refuses to take it. I cannot get anything else to come up that I can have it say supervisor, instead of the name I gave it, so therefore, can't change anything. To top it off, I can't even uninstall the thing. I tried starting up in safemode, I tried going to msconfig and unchecking all of it, but neither helped.

Is there anyone out there, that may know how I can get this thing fixed. If there was a way I could get supervisor up and not the new name, I know it would be fine. I think, what the problem is in not accepting the password, is it is looking for the name of Supervisor, which I changed, not thinking it would make a difference. HELP.............anybody. I really didn't want to have to reformat the drive to get rid of it.

Hi tinkerbell,

Search the Symantec Knowledge Base for "supervisor password" and it will come up with an article on how to fix the problem.

Hope this helps.
