Can anyone recommend a good book on software/game design and production?
I work in graphic and product design and come from an art/design background.
I am interested in how software is designed, prior to the actual programming, and how it is project managed. The design and project management process for graphic design/print and product design is very well documented, even to the extent of 'biographies' of companies such as Ford, or Chesterfields. What would be the equivalent for software design and production. This is a general question regarding software in general and I would be interested in any informed recommendations. I would also be interested to know of any good books on the conception/design/production of computer games (again, prior to actual programming). Thankyou, in advance. |

Double post, read my reply in the programming forum, and please don't post on more than one forum again to make it easier for us to read and reply.
