Data recovery software

Does anyone know of any data recovery software that works well? my mom deleted some documents she needed and i need to get them back for her. If anyone has some experiance with doing this your help would be appreciated.

step one, don't make any more changes to the hard drive or disk.
because when items are deleted, only the first character in the name is deleted, the files are still there until it is wrote over. as far as recovery, that is beyound me, but that should buy you some time.

The only recovery software I'm familiar with is Ontrack Easy Recovery, but it ain't cheap.

Yeah, there is a demo, but it won't recover the files, only tell you what files it CAN recover.
