This is what I get for being a bad boy....

Ok, I admit it. I downloaded something a little naughty that was played by my windows media player. I've since deleted the file but when I bring up my WMP and then click on file up in the left hand corner, I get a drop down window that has a few things listed at the bottom. Once of which is the name of the not so nice file. When I right click on it, I get no options and nothing happens. The file itself if gone but how do I get rid of this title from my WMP????? HELP, I swear I'll be a good boy and never do it again.

Hi,

Are you using WMP 7.1?

If so take a look here:

I don't know about others but I can't stand windows media player, not only does it track down the movies you viewed it takes up so much screen real estate when you want to want video, not the player. Anyways you can avoid this problem in the future my re-associating the files to the original media player (still present in windows xp). Right click on the file, select properties, change the opens with tab from windows media player to windows media player (from the circle to the cutscene boox). I can play all formats that the default player can play but without tracking and only a border and a small line for controls (could remove that if I wanted).

You can also open a bunch of other files in WMP and the one you want to get rid of will eventually drop off the bottom.

You can also download WMP Bonus Pack and use that to clear the history.
