In the Tools menu, go to Internet Options and then click the Advanced tab. There should be some enable/disable Java selections part way down. hth

What version of IE are you using? I'm using 5.5, and after I get into the Advanced tab, about halfway down there is a section titled Microsoft VM. There's 3 Java options under that. With it saying VM, I'm guessing that's Microsoft's Virtual Machine. Do you have that downloaded (it may have come with your OS - not sure because I'm still using Win95 and I had to DL it from MS's website).

im using v.6.0
these are the sections:
-Accessibility
-Browsing
-HTTP 1.1 Settings
-Multimedia
-Printing
-Search from the Address Bar
-Security

none of those make any reference to enabling java.

The way I understand it is that Java was disabled in IE for Windows XP because of a lawsuit brought forward by Sun.

I downloaded Sun's Java virtual machine at http://java.sun.com/getjava/download.html

Microsoft says that if you use this version it is not guaranteed against errors but it has been working just fine for me.

Yeah, Mickeysoft's site said if you didn't have VM, that you need to download Windows XP Service Pack 1. Here's the link:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/p...p1/default.asp
This may be the same as the one Hot Rod listed but I don't think so. hth
