Kazaalite 2.0
I've just downloaded KazaaLite but my broadband connection now wont connect to the internet while KazaaLite is connected.
Anybody shed any light on this or any problems encountered with KazaaLite? Hope someone can help. Thanks guys. |

You need to give us more details. What do you mean "won't connect to the internet"?
Is kazaalite working, or not? What sort of broadband connection? Any firewalls, routers etc.? |

Reboot
Sorry for vague question - my son asks as he is the one who uses P2P. Anyway don't know exact spec of broadband except it's the fast cable connection. Zonealarm firewall(the free one) is installed. No routers. The perceived problem is that when KazaaLite is in the process of downloading something, often no other pages/sites/mail can be accessed at the same time. He seems to think that on other machines (at his student flat, using Kazaa, for instance) there is no interruption to normal access even when downloading. The problem does however seem to be intermittent and may very well be due to whatever/wherever he is accessing the downloaded material. It's a pain if I want to use the PC while he is downloading something. Anyway, hope this request does not breach any rules of the site and as soon as he is back at Uni I'll probably just uninstal the KazaaLite altogether(hopefully I can) cheers. |

I don't know what is causing the problem but you should still be able to check your mail and surf the internet just fine while he is downloading. I would suspect it made some changes to your firewall.

Either the firewall is doing something strange, or kazaa is taking up so much bandwidth, it won't allow anything else to work.
Open up Kazaalite, and go to Tools, Options. On the Traffic tab, restore defaults. On the Advanced tab, change the max bandwidth to an acceptable number, usually somewhere around 4096. Make sure you have a tick mark in the "Do not function as a Supernode". You could just hit the Restore default settings button as well. |
