MPEG encoder?
Trying to make a video cd. Recieving an error message saying the files I wish to burn are not mpeg complient files. It says," I need an mpeg encoder that supports video cd encoding." Who out there can help me. Im trying to make a video cd of the Osbourne's for my niece for Xmas. I was using EZ CD Creator Platinum.

Downloaded a trial of Ahead Nero. Looks like this program will encode my video for me. If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know

Nero is a much better way to go than EZ CD -- it simply handles VCD's better.

Nero does encode MPEG-1, but if you want better quality you should use TMPGEnc. It is freeware, Nero costs $$. TMPGEnc can be downloaded at www.tmpgenc.net
The actual burning can be done with VCDEasy from www.vcdeasy.org RJ

Nero encodes MPEG-2 as well -- v. 5.5.9.0 comes with a SVCD encoder that's about as good as TMPGEnc -- not quite as good, but still pretty good.
And I still say they need to re-name VCDEasy to VCDEasy_if_you_play_with_it_for_a_month_of_Sundays. -Craig |
