What speed is Nero really buning at?
I'm using Nero 5.5.9, and am skeptical that it is actually burning at the speed I set it at. Is there a way I could monitor the actual burn speed?

Nero usually displays it in the log "starting burn process at 24x" for example.
What burner do you have, what speed is your CD-R(W) certified at, how long does the burn process take, and are source and destination drive connected to the same IDE ? RJ

This will show the true write speed in nero.I found this in a forum but i can't remember where, might of been here, about 3 mounths ago. I use it and it works for me. You could try a google for "nero write speed registry hack" or something. Just remember to back up your registry first. If i remember right, some people had trouble geting it to work and had to reinstall nero first, then it worked.
create a hackspeed.reg file (right click->new document->text file and then rename .txt to .reg) with the following content: REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\Recorder] "ShowSingleRecorderSpeed"=dword:00000001 Close file, save change and just double click it. Real recording speed should work now!
